  • How did the Care Opus come to be?
    The Care Opus was conceived in concept and name out of the need to coordinate care for Lisa's beloved mother, who was living out of state. Lisa agreed to take the lead and worked with her mother to create an all-encompassing life span plan. It covered every possible scenario from independent living through burial arrangements and included customized, vetted resources. Having this Care Opus in place proved to be invaluable and worked perfectly!
  • When do I need to start working with Lisa to create my Care Opus? My 40s? 50s? 60s? 70s? 80s?
    Anytime! The best time is when you are clear regarding how you wish to live and die. Often folks are older, and either the family initiates the care planning on the parent's behalf or the parent wants it completed for the family.
  • What are some situations where having a Care Opus is even more essential?
    Some common scenarios where a Care Opus helps tremendously include: Your wishes are unknown to key people. You are concerned that your wishes will not be followed. There is strife among family members. Your family/key people are far away from you.
  • What about if I don't know a lot of the information needed to fill out a Care Opus?
    Lisa and you will work together to find out the information through research and by consulting your trusted advisors and family.
  • How long does it take to complete a Care Opus?
    It depends on how organized you are, how clear you are regarding your wishes, and how motivated you are to complete it. If there's not an acute need, you can meet with Lisa every few weeks over several months until the Care Opus is finished. This general timeframe will be sufficient time to gather information, consider options, and confirm accuracy. Both you and Lisa work on the Care Opus together.
  • How much does a Care Opus cost?
    Lisa bills hourly. The final cost will vary depending on how much time is needed to complete the Care Opus. Pricing can range between $6,000 to $9,000.
  • Are there any Care Opus discounts given if I have family members in the same household who share some of the same information, and who want their own Care Opus, too?
    Yes, there are family and friend discounts.
  • With whom do I share my Care Opus?
    It is recommended that you share your Care Opus with a few key people. Often, these include your healthcare agent, attorney, executor, care navigator, and financial advisor.
  • Must we meet in person?
    It is not necessary to meet in person. You can meet with Lisa in person, video, phone, or any combination you prefer.
  • What payment methods does Lisa accept?
    Lisa accepts cash, check, and PayPal. She bills every two weeks until the project is complete.
